The M.D.C. Reservoir in West Hartford, CT., on Farmington Ave, (Rte 4) about 4.5 miles out of downtown Hartford, has a nice asphalt hilly loop that is a little more than 5k. The route has a couple of variations and should be done counterclockwise to avoid a very steep downhill section. This area is closed to automobiles. Enter at the main gate and bear left after the buildings to find the parking area.

Beautiful loop around the lakes! For those of you on the Terra skis, there are many longer dirt roads, but on these some sections are too rocky to ski.
