THE WORLD XC CHAMPIONSHIPS IN PLANICA, SLOVENIA

Many predicted that Norway would be dominant in the men’s races and Sweden in the women’s events, and that is exactly what happened.

The King of the 2023 World Championships was Norway’s Johannes Klaebo, who won Gold in the Sprint, Silver in the 50K Classic and Silver in the 30K Skiathlon.

The Queen of the Championships was Sweden’s Ebba Andersson with Gold in the 30K Classic, Gold in the 15K Skiathlon and Bronze in the 10K Freestyle.

Just looking at gold, silver and bronze podium medals can be myopic. Some countries might have skiers that did not make the podium but finished in the top ten. And being in the top ten in the World Championships is very, very good. I decided to see how many skiers from each country finished in the top ten in the individual events. Here are my findings.
